Craftivism is a way of looking at life where voicing opinions through creativity makes your voice stronger, your compassion deeper & your quest for justice more infinite. (craftivism.com)
Crafting such as knitting and crocheting is a very solitary and intimate act. With craftivism we are taking the personal and imitate (and very gendered) act of crafting into public. Maybe with public displays of crafting or works of crafts put in the public eye. Either way we are trying at best to bring about change in action or at least change in thought.

What to expect at this month’s meet up:
+making zines
+screen printing
+building an exposure unit (?)
+MAKING PATCHES! (with screen printing, lino block printing (maybe?) other forms of printing. Also making patches with embroidery and thread-work)
+crochet
+knit
+sewing
+much more!

The past meet ups have been great where like minded people have come together. Just the act of gathering and making an effort to do something different and bring about some type of change is activism.
